We saw another mailer add today for a duct cleaning company offering duct cleaning for $99 in Wake County. They seem to be targeting elderly, pregnant and military personel.
People, these companies CANNOT do this work for that amount of money. It is a bait and switch tactic. Once they are in your house and halfway done, you will pay anywhere between $500 - $1000 anyway and you may or may not get your ducts cleaned. Most of these companies are being investigated by the Better Business Bureau. NBC Dateline did an expose' on them. Watch it here.

Anna and I think that the reason they are targeting military is that they can invoice military personel and have their paychecks garnished. They don't have any shame.
Please everyone, if you are thinking about getting your ducts cleaned or your dryer vent cleaned. Make sure that the company is certified by NADCA (the National Air Duct Cleaners Association). These people are qualified to clean your duct and are held to a higher standard of professionalism. To see if a company is a member of NADCA go here http://www.nadca.com/ and click on Member Search.
You will save yourself stress, time, and probably money. Don't be fooled by the $99 specials.
